3 Herbal Weapons of God’s Arsenal for Spirit, Mind and Body

In my prayer time, the Lord led me to see that there is a relation between how certain herbs are empowered to work in the body and certain passages found in the Bible. I taught this at a men’s Bible health seminar and knowing that prostate health is big with men it centers around this but I believe its truths will bless women as well.

1. Saw Palmetto as “Perfect Peace”

 Isaiah 26:1-4

1In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.

2Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

4Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Saw palmetto is a low-growing palm tree found in the West Indies and in coastal regions of the southeastern United States. The tree grows 6 to 10 feet in height and has a crown of large leaves. The berries are used in herbal remedies.

Many clinical studies have found that saw palmetto relieves some symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or enlarged prostate, such as difficult and frequent urination.

Saw palmetto is promoted for relieving some of the symptoms of BPH, which include difficult and frequent urination. Chemicals in saw palmetto berries called sterols are said to interfere with the ability of hormones such as testosterone to cause prostate cells to grow.

According to several clinical studies, saw palmetto is actually more effective in treating enlarged prostate than the prescribed drug, Proscar. These studies also argue that using the herb is better than using Proscar since the latter is more expensive and is associated with several side effects that include erectile dysfunction.

Confession: “Lord, I thank you for setting up salvation within me and I walk in faithfulness to you. You keep me in perfect and constant peace as my mind is stayed on you. And this peace spreads to my whole life. I trust you and I lean on you in the name of Jesus. Amen”

2. Lycopene as “The Hiding Place”

 Psalm 32:6-7

6For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.

7Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.

Lycopene, a powerful antioxidant, is found abundant in tomatoes and tomato products. Studies found that lycopene may help reduce some cancer and heart disease. The most compelling evidence so far is the role of lycopene in prostate cancer prevention.

In a study of over 40,000 health professionals, Harvard investigators found that men who ate more than 10 servings tomato-based foods daily (like cooked tomatoes and tomato sauce,) had a 35 % lower risk of developing prostate cancer and men who just ate two or more servingsof tomato-based foods per week had a 23% lower risk of developingprostate cancer than those who ate the lesser amounts of these foods. The benefits of lycopene was more pronounced with advanced stages of prostate cancer.

Lycopene's mechanism of action in affecting prostate health is unknown. Several theories are being explored such as increased differentiation of normal cells. Lycopene and other carotenoids cause this inhibition by increasing gap-junctional communication among healthy prostate cells. Malignant prostate cells with a decrease or loss in junctional communication grow more slowly than cells with greater communication.

Confession: “Lord, You are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble and although the enemy wants to do me harm, he can’t find me for in the time of trouble, you shall hide me. A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand; but it shall not come near me”.

3. Cayenne as “Confuse the Confuser”
(Your gonna love this!!!)

 2 Chronicles 20: 1, 13-15, 21-24

1It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

13And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.

 14Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;

15And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.

21And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.

22And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.

23For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.

24And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.

Capsaicin, the pungent alkaloid in Cayenne, jalapeños and other chile peppers that makes them hot, not only puckers the mouth and burns the tongue but also drives prostate cancer cells to kill themselves off.

According to a team of researchers from the Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in collaboration with colleagues from UCLA, the pepper component caused human prostate cancer cells to undergo programmed cell death or apoptosis.

Apoptosis, or programmed cell death, is a normal component of the development and health of multicellular organisms. Cells die in response to a variety of stimuli and during apoptosis they do so in a controlled, regulated fashion. Apoptosis, is a process in which cells play an active role in their own death (which is why apoptosis is often referred to as cell suicide).

The team also found that capsaicin suppressed the growth of human prostate cancer cells – grafted into mice with suppressed immune systems – by about 80%.

Confession: “Lord, I know that satan is the author of confusion but you will confuse the confuser for us. A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand and I declare division in the kingdom of satan . I receive the victory, the increase and the abundance from the spoils of war that you have for me. And thank you for reminding me that the battle is not mine but it’s yours.”

Although these are natural herbs and foods, talk to your doctor about adding them to your diet. And if your doctor is not familiar with them, ask them “Why not!!”
