Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex. Hebrews 13:4 (Message) Meditate on these following verses and personalize them. Don't focus on the current state of the relationship: "What she doesn't do"; "What he did"; "She doesn't trust me"; "He takes me for granted"; "She's always complaining"; "He's only intimate for sex"; and on and on. These may be valid thoughts and feelings, but what we dwell on we empower to grow. You cannot "change" someone else but the word can change you both. See what the word declares as spiritual truth that is coming to be naturally seen as you draw it out with faith. Speak healing, forgiveness, and renewal. Speak, believe and stand. You may be directed for a faith filled action or faith filled silence. You will know. Let God flow.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. Mark 11:14 The context of this verse is really tied to verse 13 which says, “And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.” One may first ask that if “the time of figs was not yet” then why did the master expect to see figs? Background study shows that the fig tree produces two types of figs: One, the early fig (also referred to as “winter” or “green” figs) called “paggim” which were a smaller fig produced on the strength of nutrients left in the branch during the winter, and the second was the full fig which was produced later after the leaves. So, ultimately, although it was not time for the “full” figs, if it had leaves it was communicating that it at least had early figs. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh - 2 Corinthians 10:3 Naturally, there will be times of disagreements, confrontations, and words spoken without the loving attitude that we would like but that is not what this writing is addressing. This “Taking Thoughts” section is dealing with after the initial words have been said or offensive action made. Many times we do the right thing in holding our tongue at the time of the trial. But then afterwards… Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright. – Psalm 33:1
Praise acknowledges God’s goodness and His good works. Through praise we express our thanks for His love, grace and faithfulness towards us. It also is a wonderful way to build our trust in Him because we can grow to stay committed to praise beyond our current feelings or what we may be facing personally even when we don’t “feel” His goodness. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord - James 1:6.7 Some may say “Oh when I pray, I just ask and leave it up to God ‘cause He knows best.” Well certainly He does but praying “if it’s the Lord’s will” works with goals and planning (James 4:15) but, sorry, according to the scriptures that’s not good enough concerning what He expressly tells us. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? - Matthew 14:31 This verse is from the passage where the disciples were on a boat at night and Jesus comes to them walking on the water. Seeing that they were troubled, the Lord calls out to them, “Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. “ (v.27) My child, pay attention to my words; listen closely to what I say. Don't ever forget my words; keep them always in mind. They are the key to life for those who find them; they bring health to the whole body." - Proverbs 4:20-22 (NCV) |
