Like birds flying about, So will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending, He will also deliver it; Passing over, He will preserve it.” - Isaiah 31:5 Many truths were communicated in the scriptures through observing natural processes or animals. These parables, proverbs or metaphors can speak great faith into the believer. For this writing, allow the scriptures to speak faith into your life by these “birds in the word” and may the Father’s grace guide you into all truth that you may grow and increase thereby.

And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. Mark 11:14 After Jesus answered this fig tree, it is vital for the scriptures to note that the disciples heard what Jesus spoke. The account recorded in Matthew adds this phrase: “…and presently the fig tree withered away” (Matt 21:19). The word “presently” is key and potentially could cause confusion. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds – 2 Corinthians 10:4 From the time we get up in the morning until the time we lay down there will be a continual stream of thoughts coming at us and one of the things that we have attempted to show in this series is just how ill-equipped we actually are at handling our own mind… on our own. For example, I may consider myself a good driver but that doesn’t mean that I’m ready to go NASCAR, and But I say, Did not Israel know? First Moses saith, I will provoke you to jealousy by them that are no people, and by a foolish nation I will anger you. Romans 10:19
Since the Jews knew that God would embrace a nation that did not adhere to the rites and ceremonies that were delivered to them, then it should have been evident that these things were not prerequisites to salvation or coming to righteousness with God. "For with the heart man believes unto righteousness" says Romans 10:10. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord - James 1:6.7 Some may say “Oh when I pray, I just ask and leave it up to God ‘cause He knows best.” Well certainly He does but praying “if it’s the Lord’s will” works with goals and planning (James 4:15) but, sorry, according to the scriptures that’s not good enough concerning what He expressly tells us. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised - Luke 4:18 Christ is truly, consistently, abundantly relevant to what is going on in our lives; meaning He is, one, always pertinent to the matter at hand and, two, He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. – Psa 107:20 |
