For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. - 2 Timothy 1:7 When in times of trial and weakness, remember to fan the flames of what God put in you as a believer; the tenacity, the boldness, the spiritual backbone. You may feel inept or unqualified to handle or deal with certain things and the truth is that you are. But the good news is that the spirit that works within you is more than able. This is not about building self-confidence but building God-confidence to work through you. This builds the kind of faith that caused little David to look at Big Ol’ Goliath and say:
“This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.” – 1 Samuel 17:46 niv Lord, thank you for reminding us that feelings of fear, timidity and uncertainty may be real, but the spirit of these feelings does not come from you. You have given us all that we need that we may be empowered to resist them so that they would not overcome us. We receive your power to comfort us, your love to lift us and soundness of mind to help us to continue to walk upright and expect to see your goodness. Thank you for not holding our faults and failures against us but loosing us from all guilt through your Son. We speak life only. We speak victory only. In the name of Yahshua (Jesus) we pray, amen. 1 Samuel 17:46; Ephesians 1:19; 1 John 4:18
