2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” In the Greek, the phrase “causeth us to triumph” is an expression of a word that more closely translates to “leads us in or to triumph”. In other words, God is not as much “causing" it as He is leading us in it. Colossians 2:15 is another place where we see this same word used. It says that Yahshua (Jesus) “spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” This paints the picture of a victory parade that displays the vanquished foe in chains, defeated, beaten, and humiliated. This is satan now and the believers are riding in the front of this parade with the Lord…now. Things aren’t what they seem though, because satan is still a liar and a thief. He tries to instill fear with threats of sickness, debt, confusion, worry, and anything else that he can use to distract us from the truth of our victory and his fate. But that’s why verses like these are so vital to build our faith for comfort and strength. It is finished! We are victors living out our victory through Christ. Let’s continue to follow Him and He will never lead us to evil or defeat but always triumph.
Lord, Thank you for ALWAYS causing us to overcome and walk in victory. We refuse to be caught up in the present state of things. You are maneuvering and manifesting in secret and unseen ways on our behalf. You don’t lead us into temptation; but You deliver us from evil. When temptation comes, You lead us in the way to escape. You teach us to live profitably and lead us in the ways to go. It is a joy to trust in you. Wow, You choose to use us to show your truth to others…I am overwhelmed.
