Faith in Flight: Birds in The Word

Like birds flying about, So will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem. Defending, He will also deliver it; Passing over, He will preserve it.” - Isaiah 31:5

Many truths were communicated in the scriptures through observing natural processes or animals. These parables, proverbs or metaphors can speak great faith into the believer. For this writing, allow the scriptures to speak faith into your life by these “birds in the word” and may the Father’s grace guide you into all truth that you may grow and increase thereby.

1. Sparrows

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. (7) But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. - Luke 12:6,7

Faith note: God is into the details and you have not been overlooked or forgotten. 

2. Ravens

Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? - Luke 12:24

Faith note: You are highly valued by the Father. Through the new covenant of grace, He meets that value with giving liberally and not holding back for us to qualify for what is unmerited anyway. So real faith doesn't just see God as a provider, but through Christ, we know that He has provided. Believe you receive the wisdom and direction to access what has be reserved from Heaven for you. 

3. Eagles

Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, (5) Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s - Psalm 103:4,5

Faith note: Let us focus on our redeemer and renewal, revival, restoration and other benefits flow much easier.

4. Hawks

Does the hawk fly by your wisdom, and spread its wings toward the south? (27) Does the eagle mount up at your command, and make its nest on high? - Job 39:26,27

Faith note: God responds to His promises with 'yes and amen'. But if things don't work out or come to pass like you think they should, examine yourself. Challenge God and you may not be ready for His response. 

5. Doves

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. - Matthew 10:16


Faith note: Adonai is neither leaving us powerless nor defenseless. He wants us to trusts Him for power, confidence, and ability that surpasses our own. Fret not when you come to the end of yourself and lean not to your limited understanding. Rejoice, for this is the place of unlimited supply. Respond in faith, receive what you need, and overcome.

6. Storks

Storks in the sky know their seasons; doves, swallows and cranes their migration times; but my people do not know the rulings of Adonai! - Jeremiah 8:7 (CJB)

Faith note: Observe, meditate, and listen. Your answers and inheritance are not hidden from you. They are treasures hidden for you 'where moth and rust wont corrupt them (time), and where thieves can break in and steal them" (satan).

7. Tree Swallows

As the sparrow finds herself a home and the swallow her nest, where she lays her young, [so my resting-place is] by your altars, Adonai-Tzva’ot, my king and my God. (4) How happy are those who live in your house; they never cease to praise you! - Psalm 84:3,4 (CJB)

Faith  note: The life of faith is staying in continual rest, continual thanksgiving, and continual praise through all of the fluctuations that occur. Anything that comes against this mindset, refuse.  

8. Quails

The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven. (41) He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. - Psalm 105:40-41

Faith note: Ask and ye 'shall' receive. Just stay open to the route in which the provision may show up.  

9. Partridges

Like the partridge that gathers a brood which she did not hatch and sits on eggs which she has not laid, so is he who gets riches by unjust means and not by right. He will leave them, or they will leave him, in the midst of his days, and at his end he will be a fool. - Jeremiah 17:11 (AMP)


Last faith note: The way we do it matters, the motive behind it matters, and the ends never justify the means. He will guide the repented heart. 

Precious Father there is such simplicity in Your word, and at the same time much depth. Thank you for revealing Yourself and Your way through Your word concerning these birds. As You speak to us through Your perfect law of liberty, by faith, we decree that we will continue therein, and not be forgetful hearers, but doers of the work.  As we meditate on Your word our minds are renewed to think more godly and Your good, goods, and your goodness are seen in our lives more and more. We celebrate the finished works of Yahshua (Jesus), whose sacrifice furnished such a full salvation for all who believe. And through that grace provision, we receive your righteousness, defense, favor, restoration, correction, empowerment, wisdom, peace, and instructions that we may do, be, and have all that we need to be effective and excel for your kingdom.
