And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us - 1 john 5:14 This word “confidence” comes from the Greek word Par-rhe-si’-a. Parrhe – “all” and sia – “out or outward”
Confidence literally translates to “All out”. By implication, then, it means boldness, assurance with nothing held back, reserved or wavering. So when we are 'confident' in the word of God, we are proclaiming that we are committed and invested in what it says and anticipating the outcome with assurance. So when James 5:16 says that “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”, the word “fervent” deals with heart-felt, heart-committed, or confident. So confidence is a necessary aspect of effective praying. This confidence can only come when one knows the will of God. Let’s get in the word, get our confidence up and go ALL OUT!! Gracious Father, I am committed and invested in what I believe about You. You are my wisdom, my health, my shield, and my prosperity. Because You never lie I can put my complete confidence in You and Your word. Thank you for Your Son Yahshua (Jesus) who sacrificed for me and provided a full salvation where I can now stand guilt-free and fear-less. I know that as I go ‘All Out’ for Your kingdom, the manifestation of Your blessing will flow ‘All Out’ in every area of my life.
