Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: - . Psalm 23:5a This verse really gets into the nature of God’s provision. Those that believe that God’s will for His people is about “just getting by” are not really reading this book! “Preparing a table” sounds like a simple, meager thing until you realize that it really refers to a full, well laid-out, arranged and assorted meal. Even though the sheepfold was kept in security, predators were always around. The context even seems to give the impression that this preparation is done so well as to intentionally provoke the jealousy of a hater. Yes, it is true that the Lord “has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant” (Psa. 35:27) but remember that abundant health and provision are not just for having but are God’s kingdom building resources to flow through us.
Lord, I thank you that my destiny is not in the hands of man and that I don’t have to be all caught up in what others think. My haters may continue hatin’ but I still receive by faith the full bounty of favor that You have prepared for me so that I may be, do and have according to the promises in Your word. Let’s give them something to talk about. Luke 12:4; Psa. 35:27; Eph 3:19
