And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing. – Psalm 107:22 The old covenant sacrifices were many, ritualistic, scripted and of a great outward show. Yet the internal motives and heart condition always meant most to God. We may be under the new covenant but He hasn’t changed. While we may be busy doing the external “do’s” of a upright life, we deceive ourselves if we think at any time that this impresses Him as all of us are inconsistent at best. Hey, keep doing right and giving stuff externally but put the emphasis on His grace and let your real sacrifice be internal. Thanksgiving and gratitude are always in style.
Lord the best I have to give is to prepare my heart with thankfulness. I declare that gratitude is my lifestyle. Yes, I realize that the word working in my life is affected by my faithfully acting on it; but I let my thankful heart motivate the right and faithful actions and I stand ready to receive all that your grace has provided by faith. Thank you for Yahshua (Jesus) who sacrificed first to provide this grace. I will always stay prepared to share what you have done in me and for me. Psa 50:23; James 1:21
