For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. – Romans 8:18 Perspective is everything. Another key in taking thoughts captive and keeping our minds from being overburdened with care and worry concerning what we may be currently facing is building up our hope and expectation on what God has before us – waaay over. When we focus on our issues, trials or challenges in life, we will have a tendency to get short-sighted in the temporal moments of the storm instead of building faith to see past where we are that we may confidently declare, “this too shall pass.” We, as believers, need to continually come to a fuller knowledge of what God has already done in and prepared for us. The same way that His grace is far greater than our sins, His provisions are exceeding abundantly above our needs. No comparison! Also, remember that the “glory which shall be revealed” is not just referring to when we die and go to our Heavenly home. The Greek word “revealed” is literally “disclosed, uncovered, or unveiled” (Thayer’s, Strong’s). This disclosure of God’s glory happens as we submit our lives to Him and to His word, then revelation of the glory is made to us and reflection of the glory is made by us in this world. For example In John chapter 11, we find that Lazarus had died and Jesus and Martha (Lazarus’ sister) had this exchange in verses 23-25:
Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live The key is that she believed the resurrection but had not dis-covered the access that she already had to partake in the benefits of the resurrection (full scripture context). Step by step, may we value His glory being revealed in us and through us far beyond anything and everything that we may go through in this life. Glorious Father, You have done so many wonderful things for me. There is truly none like You. Nothing compares to You and nothing compares to Your glory. What a joy it is to know that You have imparted such a glory to me and in doing so, have imparted Yourself to me that I may know You, (wow) truly know You and your son Yahshua (Jesus) and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings. Thank you for Your grace that has been committed to me bringing peace to my heart and mind that I would never be overcome by worries, doubts, frustrations or challenging times in life. I would faint and just give up if I didn’t really believe that I would really see you goodness in my life. I give thanks now for it all. In the name of Yahshua (Jesus) I pray. Through Christ, I am a container of the glory of God and nothing compares to Hs glory. Everything else is relatively worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. The glory that will be seen in, on, and through my life is greater and of more eternal worth than any situation that I have or will ever face. It re-minds me of His continual care over what concerns me. It assures me of His providence in guiding me along. It checks me when I let “stuff” get to me that should not. Whatever I face, I WIN! Knowing this… why should I feel discouraged? Psalm 138:8; Phil 3:8-10; Romans 8:19
