And bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ – 2 Corinthians 10:5b More and more, the Lord is revealing that our lives follow the path of our most dominant thoughts. This is not said to put anyone in condemnation for some of the hardships that they may have experienced, but to say that we need to take responsibility for the way that we think and the thoughts that we allow because they do have great and lasting impact on our lives. That being said, the power to be effective in “capturing thoughts” is not in our ability to try harder but must be put on daily receiving the power of Christ (grace) to work through us.
“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” - Philippians 2:13 And He works by our resting and trusting in Him to provide the empowerment to prosper and overcome all that we face especially in out thought-life. Also recognize that as a believer we HAVE the mind of Christ (1 Cor:2:16) and that by continually putting our trust (faith) in that same empowering grace that saved us, what we already have (in our spirit man) will be seen, felt, and experienced in our natural man. This should become a daily practice. Then, when lustful, fearful, wayward, or oppressive thoughts come there will be power to simply respond aloud with something like “This is not my thought. I refuse to meditate on it. My thoughts are only on things that are pure, lovely, and good” (Phil 4:8) We don’t have to make it work. We just get out of the way and received the finished work. May the fulness of grace be upon you all, my family and blessed readers. Thank you my marvelous Father for supplying a full salvation that not only brought me into a right relationship with you but also continues to empower and enable me to think, speak, act, and react in accordance with your will. Thank you for your loving patience in my process of becoming the new creature that you already made me. Thank you mostly for Christ and His sacrifice which brought this provision to me. I can now put my faith in His righteousness and I am not left with the futile efforts of achieving through my own. You, my Father, have thought of everything for me and I count it an honor and privilege to bring every thought to obey you. In the name of Yahshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus the Christ) I pray. God is working in me through His empowering grace so that the mind of Christ, which I already have in my spirit, may be fully experienced in my natural mind. I take captive every thought and lead it in captivity to obey Christ. I refuse and resist giving any thought-time to anything that is not true, honest, pure, good, virtuous, and praise-worthy. Satan, you are a defeated, exposed liar. Flesh, settle down and conform to the image of the Son. I rejoice in confidence that this “thought-capturing” power and authority is provided for me to be seen and experienced by my Father though Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 4:8; Ephesians 4:21-24
