For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. – 1 Timothy 4:8 Without question exercise is important to our overall health; but it is limited in comparison to the value of godliness. A godly lifestyle (one that seeks to believe and act in line with God’s word) positions us to receive the promises from the word of God for this life and the world to come. Yet remember that things like praying, attending worship services and Bible reading doesn’t do God any favors. These things are for our benefit as they help us to cultivate a heart for God.
Thank you, my Lord, for giving me a mind to take care of my body, as well as my spirit and soul. By faith I receive divine guidance for the best and most effective results. Yet, I put no faith in my healthy lifestyle or exercise regimen. My exercising is only a corresponding action to the health that I receive by faith. You are my only source of health and wellness. Exercise is only one small resource that you have provided. If I spend more time with bodily exercise than sowing to my spirit, I am out of alignment. As I make godliness my focus I am open to unlimited results… in all areas… forever. I give thanks in Yahshua (Jesus Christ). 1 Tim 6:6; Psalm 121:2
