"... holding the Word of God in mind until it has affected every area of one's life and character." Andrew Murray on meditation Right off the top, one of the greatest differences between Biblical meditation and transcendental or yoga meditation is that instead of emptying one's mind to quietness, it is about continually filling one's mind with God's word. There certainly are levels of peace, wisdom, motivation, and balance that we may attain naturally through our own practices of mental stillness, but what the Scriptures refer to in the 30+ times that they speak of "meditation", "pondering", etc. is much greater and leads to having access to even more.

"The publication of this work may be regarded as a testimony of my faith in divine healing. After being stopped for more than two years in the exercise of my ministry, I was healed by the mercy of God in answer to the prayer of those who see in Him 'the Lord that healeth thee'" (Exodus 15:26). - Andrew Murray (1828-1917)
This beautifully expounded classic work presents a wealth of scriptural balance with its teachings and is full of faith provoking insights. It is accessed to our readers through public domain. Stay in faith! |
