The artificial sweetener, Aspartame, was first approved in the United States in 1981 in what was called "the most contested approval in FDA history" (60 Minutes , 1995) There have been several drugs and medical devices that were initially claimed to be safe by the FDA and yet, after further investigation the claims were reversed. The safety of aspartame depends greatly on reaction on organism so there is a considerable need of a complex approach. Hope the artificial sweetener "the most contested approval in FDA history" would give right answers despite adverse reactions. Thank you a lot for sharing with us.
