Dr. John Bergman, a prominent chiropractor and health advocate, emphasizes the profound impact of stress on overall health and well-being. His teachings focus on understanding stress as a root cause of many health issues and providing practical strategies to manage it.
Dr. Bergman explains that stress is a natural survival mechanism designed to protect us from danger (usually referred to as the "fight or flight" response).  However, chronic stress can overwhelm the body and lead to dysfunction. He breaks down stress into 3 types:

Radish flower
Eating vegetables is well known to be a huge part of a healthy lifestyle. Yet, cruciferous vegetables are especially potent and well documented protectors against cancer, heart disease and stroke among other diseases and ailments. The most notable members of the cruciferous family include vegetables like broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, radishes, turnips, kale (my favorite), collards, and mustard greens.

Not everyone is keen on the "do-it-yourself" fermented foods thing. So here are a few examples of probiotic foods and supplements that you can buy.

Please note that these are not given to necessarily promote these brands but to show some specific aspects of what you can look for that makes up the "better" probiotic foods and supplements. Cooked, pasteurized, dead foods and supplements made without emphasis on their probiotic integrity and delivery system need not apply.

For Thy Stomach’s Sake: Fermentation, a Healthy Gut, and the Scriptures

Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities. – 1 Timothy 5:23

First, I want to be clear that this is not a promotion for drinking alcoholic beverages as excessive alcohol consumption is the third leading cause of preventable death in the US. In fact this is not about alcohol at all. It’s about the benefits of fermentation (or lacto-fermentation) and the microorganisms that are produced in the process. Although in the bible times they may not have known about probiotics or the specific types of good bacteria by name, it was well known that fermented foods and drinks had a profound effect that brought balance and health to the gut (intestines).

Giving Water To Babies

A question from the file...

My nieces and nephews have babies and the mid-wives seem to be telling all these new parents never to give a baby water. I thought everyone needed water? What is that all about?

Although I agree with you that we all need water, I have to say that I do understand why some mid-wives (as well as some pediatricians) would say "no" concerning water to babies for a few reasons:

And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city. Isaiah 1:8

Cucumbers usually don’t get the notoriety of other vegetables in terms of health benefits, but they offer a unique combination of nutrients. They are about 95% water and are excellent for hydrating, regulating blood pressure and maintaining body fluid balance. Their phytonutrients give them valuable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. There is also research on anti-cancer benefits of cucumbers that is still in the preliminary stage.

There are many of us that take special notice of the foods that we eat, the amounts we consume, and the "treats" we allow. There are also many that take this further into counting calories, weighing portion sizes, having carb point systems, and on and on. Yet one of the quickest and most overlooked ways that can derail our healthy lifestyle efforts is condiments. Just the processing alone is enough for concern, knowing that the FDA has regulatory allowance levels for insect infestation, mold, maggots, and rodent hair (among other detailed mammalian excreta) in the processing of the source ingredients.
